Our adventure begins on the island of Caye Caulker, a laid-back coconut tree filled island village that you can’t help fall in love with.  “Go Slow” is the island mantra and we take it seriously.  If coming from the mainland, now is a good time to use the restroom and stretch-a-leg as we ready the boat to head northward to the world-famous Shark and Stingray Alley snorkeling grounds, a protected underwater wildlife marine park.

Your group will come aboard using one of the best tour companies on the island.  You will then cruise alongside the island and dance across the waves as we make our way to the great barrier reef about an hour north.  Traversing through amazingly beautiful mangroves and coral islands naturally made off the Belizean coast located just on the west side of the Great Barrier Reef.

Belize is known for its coveted live portion of the Great Barrier Reef, mainly because it is one of the last live portions on earth, and today… you get to experience it firsthand.

We fit you with freshly sanitized mask, fins, and snorkel so you too can swim among the natural marine treasures of Belize… the only way RAS Tours can, environmentally and responsibly safe.  We work very closely with local preservation and conservation organizations to protect the reef and preserve this natural resource for generations to come.

You will swim shoulder to shoulder with harmless nurse sharks, be delighted with friendly stingrays that dance at your feet as the memorizing eagle-rays meander above your head, maybe a picture-perfect sea turtle diving and dodging up and over the reef as a host of other types of fish from snappers to rock-fish to any other interesting reef dwellers you can dream of.  Oops…we hope you remembered the underwater camera for this trip? You’re going to need it… we’ve even been blessed with the presence of the majestic Manatee that will floor you with its amazing speed and agility, you just never know who will stop by the reef…

After your snorkeling extravaganza we will head over to Ambergris Caye, the tourism capital and fishing Mecca of San Pedro to be specific, La Isla Bonita? … the San Pedro we all know Madonna was really singing about. 😊

After an Authentic Caribbean Island Lunch, followed by some time to explore the island, meet the indigenous people, fall in love, check in and make all your friends jealous with more than a few amazing selfies and photos, stop, go slow, repeat…  then back to reality.  Confident we’ve both done something good for the environment.  RAS Tours always remits a percentage of all proceeds to the preservation of Belize and its natural resources through community projects.
